Prague- "The Must Visit Places"_ A honeymoon Journey

Prague, capital city of the Czech Republic, is bisected by the Vltava River. Nicknamed “the City of a Hundred Spires,” it's known for its Old Town Square, the heart of its historic core, with colorful baroque buildings, Gothic churches and the medieval Astronomical Clock, which gives an animated hourly show. Completed in 1402, pedestrian Charles Bridge is lined with statues of Catholic saints. That's what you know Prague from the Wiki know. But Prague is a city that needs to be walked and explored on foot through the cobbled stoned alleys and lanes, framed by beautiful multi-coloured buildings in Art Noveau style with facades filled with blossoming flowers and planter boxes with green and colourful flowers.

We were on our honeymoon to Prague, and it was a much needed vacay for us. After deciding on a number of places, such as Croatia (Dubrovnik especially-Being die hard GOT fans) , UK ( Being a Harry Potter fan as well) and Scotland, we couldn't decide what to choose but suddenly came up with this choice which we both agreed on. The tickets were also booked in a jiffy and everything were settled but nowhere in our minds ever, we had this planned or even dreamed of visiting a city like Prague.
Rain Drenched Praha welcomed us
As soon as we reached the city on the 14th of March, the city greeted us with a splash of shower and abundance of cold and fresh air filled with smell of grilled cheese and barbecued meat. The experience was amazing in terms of food, transport, accommodation and roaming around. So here in this blog I'll start about our experience of the best places that we feel that you can cover on a 2 day trip to Prague and not miss a thing. A special thanks to the Youtuber "Honest Guide" for virtually guiding us throughout our journey. (His vlogs are The Best!!)

So here goes the top 5 attractions in Prague in 2 days
1. The Petrin Tower
Petrin Tower

Petrin Tower is a 63.5 m tall tower which was once used as an observation tower as well as a transmission tower, having an uncanny similarity to the Eiffel Tower. It is located on the Petrin hill, roughly an hour walk/climb from the city.

Things to do- Its best if you can wrap your breakfast and go as your morning walk up the tower. Te climb is very beautiful and as you reach the top, you can enjoy the breakfast by looking over the city-scape and the beautiful river Vltava flowing through it. So here are some of the views that you can get as you climb up the hill.

2. Charles Bridge
Charles Bridge at 12 at night
Charles Bridge is a historic bridge that crosses the Vltava river in Prague, Czech Republic. Its construction started in 1357 under the auspices of King Charles IV. Though its a very famous structure, you really don't need to make a plan to visit the bridge. It falls in the heart of the city and there is no way you can miss it. The bridge is totally pedestrianized and you can take a stroll across the bridge at anytime of the day. We took a stroll at 12 at night so we could not take a decent picture, but our experience was surreal as the bridge felt haunted in the neon lights with light and shadows of the old statues and structures. The bridge was fully empty except a few drunk people who where coming back from the other side of the city after having a good time. So here is a pics I will share from the Internet.
3. Vysehrad
Cobbled roads inside Vysehrad Fort
It is a fort built in the 10th century which cradles a St Peters Basilica and church as well as a cemetery. The cemetery is very beautiful and contains the remains of famous people. The locals claim that the fort is the starting point of settlements in Prague in and before the late 10th century.
The climb up the hill
As for our honeymoon, we just went there for its location and scenic view. The fort is located on a hill and very close to the river. Once you climb up the narrow staircase, you come to see the other side of the city along the river. The view is mesmerizing as well and fresh.
Entry gate to the compound
The entrance to the fort was narrow and you can have the direct glimpse of the huge basilica with its large pinnacle and the naive. As we walked along the sides of the basilica along the medieval brick gate, we saw the view of the old buildings with orange room and colorful walls.
There is an old cellar used as a pub where one can sit on the benches and enjoy the pilsner beer in the chilly wind or the hot summers with an amazing view. The name of the pub is Hospudka Na Hradbach. Further walking one will experience a residential area followed by the basilica and cemetery.

Basilica Vysehrad
Among the numerous architectural gems of the Vysehrad fortress, the Neo-Gothic church called the “Basilica of St. Peter and St. Paul” attracts many visitors. The church of two apostles was originally built at the beginning of the 11th century as a Romanesque basilica, and in 1249 it was damaged by fire and rebuilt in the Gothic and later Neo-Gothic style. Nowadays, it is a three-aisled basilica with chapels at the side aisles. At the sides of the façade, there are dyads of towers. The facade is decorated with sophistication .
Cemetery at Vysehrad
Graveyard with the 19th-century Slavin tomb, holding the remains of renowned artists & musicians. The statues were splendid with perfection and art.

4. Prague Zoo
Prague Zoo ranks fifth among the top zoos in the world. If you are going on a peak tourist season you'll be lucky enough to experience all types of species and animals together. The zoo is an experience overall spread over an area of about 140 acres.

4. Old Town Square + Astronomical Clock
This place hosts buildings of various architectural styles, Gothic, Baroque and Art Noveau. The most famous among the buildings is the Astronomical Clock Tower placed on the Church of Our Lady Before Tyn. The clock displays unique feature of ringing every hour as the hand struck 12.

5. Farmers Market
If you have a foodie inside you and you want to wander like a local, this place is a must visit. They have all varieties of fresh fruits and foods grown and made by the locals. We loved being there and enjoyed every bit of it.

It is situated on the banks of the river just beside the Plackeho Namesti tram station. People basically locals came with their families on the Saturday morning to take home freshly baked bread, patisserie, meat etc.

Our Flowering Garden all around the year

My Drawing of a Garden all around the year Today I would like to share with you how we transformed our small balcony space into a beautiful home garden. This post is a very personal post and quite close to my heart.  So it starts back in April 2019, when I, Sayani, first moved into this apartment after marriage. My husband planted this Mogra plant fo me, (we also call it Beli in bengali) (Arabian Jasmine) since its one of my favorite plants and it symbolises love. It only has one flower when I first met it. We always wanted a beautiful garden, so this was our initial additions to the garden, Hibiscus plants. We love hibiscus because we can use it to offer our Gods/idols in the puja mandir. The next addition to the garden was basil, which we love to use in our kitchen to make beautiful pasta recipes. Yes basil grows like anything, you only need to feed them water day and night.   Click here:  Potting mix that we use  Click here: Compost that we use once every month Once we felt that we

Unexplored beaches in Vizag | Natural Stone Arch Bridge | A day out with Nomad Vloggers

Recently due to the pandemic our life had become quite sedentary. We were continuously doing work from home for about 6 months now and life is pretty boring without family and relatives. We as a couple are working in Visakhapatnam, which is a very beautiful city on the Eastern Ghats of South India. We are living here for fore than 4 years now and most of the scenic places were covered b us.  Hence as the unlock 4 came in action, we decided that we should explore something new and place having very less human footfall. After searching for hours on the map, finally we got our heart to visit this place. We thought it will be completely inhabited, but many fellow people like us were also there. Nerveless, we enjoyed our time after 6 months, soaked in some salt water, breathe the freshest air and felt happy. We hope to continue this from now onwards.
